One Small Thing visits Send

Published on News from HMP Send

Steve Dempsey organised an open morning for the women at Send. One Small Thing was pleased to be part of the morning and to have the opportunity to talk to some of the women about their experiences in the prison system and their thoughts on how their past traumas were being addressed.

There were two women who had been leading the Healing Trauma programme and it was clear how much it meant to them to be providing peer mentoring to others. The programme has proved to be very successful and there is a waiting list of women who want to take part.

Teams from Peterborough and New Hall were there, plus from the local area there was Mind (Woking), Together UK, and Into The Light.  All were are on hand to talk to the women about the services they deliver – both on the inside and outside.
