The Build

Our Hope Street build is now complete and we are now putting the finishing touches to the interior and starting the see the garden landscaping take shape. It's wonderful seeing the space transform into the trauma informed, gender specific environment envisaged years ago when we started designing Hope Street.

We are particularly excited to have the cork wall fitted in the women's lounge. This wall will become a piece of living art - a collaborative space for women to share their ideas and document their journey at Hope Street. The structure of the Creche building is complete and the landscaping team have also made a start on setting out the walkways and hedging.

It won't be long now until we start welcoming women and their children!

Hope Street Team

In December we began a big recruitment drive for the new Hope Street team. In January, we started interviewing candidates, so all roles can be in place in time for opening in the Spring. We are looking forward to welcoming our new team members and developing our Hope Street community!

All our vacancies are listed here.

Raising Awareness of Hope Street

We are delighted that in January Carolyn Harris, MP for Swansea East, highlighted Hope Street in her question to Justice Minister, Damian Hinds, in the House of Commons. She highlighted the role Hope Street can play in supporting women who are eligible for conditional release from prison but are not able to take this up.

‘Women eligible for early release are being denied this opportunity due to lack of safe move-on accommodation…Will the secretary of state please look urgently at investing more money and innovation in developing safe community accommodation, like what is available through the Hope Street Project, to allow more women across the country to benefit from early release.’

Thank you for your support

We are grateful to all who donated to our Big Give Christmas Challenge Campaign. We raised an incredible £77,635 - this will allow us to provide trauma recovery programmes for women at Hope Street, supporting them to rebuild their lives.       .
