Esther Sample

Esther Sample was previously Research Lead at the Young Women's Trust. She is a Churchill Fellow who researched trauma-informed support for women experiencing homelessness in Canada, Finland and Sweden in 2018. She was a founding Steering Group member and then Trustee for Agenda Alliance for a full term of seven years. She previously worked to set up and manage a London housing reciprocal scheme for women and families fleeing abuse at Safer London, which was a winner of the London Homelessness Awards 2018. Prior to that she was St Mungo’s Women’s Strategy Manager, where she implemented trauma and gender-informed practice across the organisation, and was a lead on the Rebuilding Shattered Lives report and campaign. She has delivered training on women’s homelessness nationally in partnership with Homeless Link. Esther has also worked in policy at DrugScope and Homeless Link, and in various frontline support roles in the UK and overseas.
